2017 Vacation Bible School (VBS)
Vacation Bible School Crew
Designed for children, families, seniors, and young & old alike, the VBS Crew will have a variety of cultural experiences with the children and will serve them by leading and participating in a daily 2 hour Vacation Bible School style program. We will share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with approximately 200-300 children per day, through music, Bible stories, crafts, games, and service projects.
Bible school is one of the most requested projects from community leaders, due to the high risk of gang-life for teens in the capital, Guatemala City. Families and churches are fighting against this gang attraction with the Word of God. Village leaders have told us that teaching their children the story and teachings of Jesus is their most effective weapon to stem the tide of children and teens being pulled from the villages into gang-life in the city.
The theme of this year’s VBS is “Hearts For Jesus”. We will be sharing the life of Jesus, over the 4 day VBS program offered each afternoon at the above Mission Sites.
Since this is only an afternoon project, this crew will also serve on one of the other Mission Crews in the mornings. Potential VBS projects at each site, and mission supplies may change as needed. Some supplies will be collected by team members prior to the trip while others will be provided by other sources.
